Masters of Freestyle Aufguss is a unique competition format which combines sauna sessions and the art of towel waving.  Sauna masters will compete in the ability to demonstrate various towel waving techniques. This is an international competition, where participants come from different corners of the world and include world champions in sauna ceremonies.

The competition is divided into four rounds. The first two rounds are focused on waving the towel according to the rules, with an emphasis on classic waving and a few tricks here and there. Contestants are howeverer encouraged to improvise.

The third round consists of two parts. The first part is cooperative, where the contestants together demonstrate towel waving to selected music. The second part is a freestyle battle, where contestants fight each other to see who can improvise better.
